Ford Tourneo Connect 2011

Ford Tourneo Connect 2011

GENEVA, SWITZERLAND -

Ford says the Tourneo Connect BEV is ideal for a city environment and it has a top speed of 112 km/h (70 mph) with a range of 160 km (100 miles) on a single charge. This new Ford car is suitable for both families and commercial applications and has been designed in collaboration with Smith Electric Vehicles, a division of the Tanfield Group. Buyers will be able to recharge their Tourneo Connect in 6-8 hours off a standard household outlet.

Ford of Europe’s Chairman and CEO, John Fleming, says the Ford Tourneo Connect BEV will appeal to families and businesses that look to using electric vehicles for reduced operating costs, achieving tax incentives, and having a zero emissions business strategy. The Ford Tourneo Connect BEV electric car will go on sale in the United States with an expected release date of early 2010, and Ford will ramp up production to meet the expected demand from the growing number of ‘green’ companies in the U.S.
