Mustang 1000 Lap Challenge

Recently the EPA rated the 2011 V6 Mustang at 31 mpg/highway. Well, Ford plans to put this rating to the test in June at Bristol Motor Speedway. The company says the Mustang 1,000-Lap Challenge will begin the morning of Wednesday, June 23 with a team of Ford test drivers continuously circling the track until the vehicle runs out of fuel. Their goal is to surpass the 1,000-lap mark.

Ford is giving fans a chance to win a new 2011 V6 Mustang by correctly guessing how many laps the car will be able to achieve on one tank of gas. Those who enter the Mustang 1000 Lap Challenge can select any number from 900-1,500. I have a feeling the car will achieve more than the predicted 1,000 laps. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
